Thefts and Security Incident Reporting

Thefts

When a theft happens call the Campus Police. This includes theft of library items or theft of student property.

We keep a record of the thefts that occur in the library though the Library Security Incident Form.  When filling out this form, be sure to provide pertinent information such as patron name/ID, item description, location, and a summary.

Please note: if the item stolen was a textbook, ask patron for any distinguishing marks on the book. With students permission, contact BookMart (x3391) and provide their contact info. If anyone tries to sell the book there, BookMart will confiscate it and call the student.

Security Incident Reporting

Other incidents that should be reported include any violation of the PCC Student Code of Conduct. This includes yelling, use of profanity, violence towards others, destruction of library property, or any time you feel threatened or unsafe. You do not need to call Campus Police in order to fill out a Library Security Incident Form. Reports are shared with the Library Dean, full-time library staff, and any other relevant parties.
