Security Video Cameras

There are 25 cameras throughout the library. Each camera is set to a specific location or is set on a constant 360 degree rotation.  Each camera can zoom and some are able to move by remote control.  There is a map located near the main camera monitor and contral pad at the circulation desk that identifies the location, number, and setting of each camera.  The map is also in the physical manual.

It is possible to place video copies of recordings onto CDs.  Instructions to do this are located on the W drive, under Circulation, in PDF files named "DSOperator card" and "DS2 Set-up Guide (Multi)".  Instructions can be found in the physical manual as well. Blank CDs can be found in the large cabinet in the circulation office. The software to play copies of recordings is automatically embedded onto the CD when a copy is made.   The CD burner device is located in the electrical closet on the 2nd floor across from the women's restroom.  The door can only be opened by Campus Police.

For questions about the camera system's functionality or to report problems with making copies of recordings, please call Alert Security. Contact information is in the physical manual.

For security reasons, the instructions have not been linked to this online manual.  Please refer to the computer files or to the physical manual to see how to operate recording equipment.
