Lost and Found Policy
- The Library is not responsible for personal belongings.
- For anything found in the Library or turned in by a patron, a yellow “Found Item Tag” will be completed. (These are located at the Circulation Desk.)

Library staff will examine items of value (e.g., clothing, keys, electronic items, jewelry, or other personal effects that may be considered valuable) for identification and attempt to contact the owner. All items will be placed in the “Lost and Found” bin (located next to the “Hold” shelf at the back of the Circulation area).
Campus Police will pick up “Lost & Found” items, usually in the mornings.
A. Exceptions:
i. Photocopies of any papers containing sensitive or personal information, (i.e., Social Security cards, passports, drivers licenses, credit card receipts) will be shredded.
If patrons inquire about a lost item, staff should first check our “Lost and Found” bin. If the article is not there, refer the patron to the Campus Police. Their policy is as follows:
Police and Safety Services maintains a "Lost and Found" service in their Campus Center office, T130.
Lost and Found property is maintained by the Campus Police Department. Found property is held for 90 days. All reasonable attempts are made to locate the owners of property turned into Lost and Found. Property not claimed within 90 days is disposed of or donated to charitable causes.
We're available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can contact the office by calling (626) 585-7484.*
