Instructor Reserves

Instructor Reserve items are available to currently registered students only.  A LancerCard is required to check-out the items. Any and only three Instructor Reserve items can be checked out at one time.  Items can be renewed as long as, 1) no one has requested the item (see Reserve Materials Request Form) or, 2) the item does not have a sticker that says "No Renewals".

All Instructor Reserve items are kept at the Circulation Desk. Instructors bring their personally owned items (i.e. books, audio/visual material, articles, etc.) to the Circulation Desk.  They fill out an Instructor Reserve Form (used to process the item), where they indicate the loan period and how long the item is to remain on Reserve.  Processing takes approximately 1-2 days. When the instructor wants to remove any of their items from the Instructor Reserve, they come to the Circulation Desk to pick them up.  The record for the item is then taken out of the system and the Instructor Reserve Form is updated.

As a rule, no library-owned items are placed in the Instructor Reserves.  An exception is when a library-owned Textbook is in a format that lends itself to theft (i.e. a DVD or three-ring binder).  Requests from Instructors to place general circulating, library-owned materials in the Instructor Reserve will not be granted unless arrangements with the Access Services and/or Acquisitions Librarian have been made.

The Instructor Reserve is organized alphabetically by last name.  In some cases, books are organized by Department (i.e. Paralegal Studies, Math Department, Radiological Department).  This is because the item is owned by the Department.
