Copies and printouts are ten cents per page. Printouts are picked up and/or paid for on the first floor.
Can I borrow the schedule of classes/ where can I buy it?
Patrons may look at a copy of the schedule at the Circulation Desk or may check it out for library use only. Patrons may also look at the copies available at the Reference Desk. Class schedules may be purchased at the Bookstore (B Building). The class schedule is also posted on the PCC website.
Where can I use a computer?
For PCC Web site access, any computer terminal throughout the library is available. For other computer use, such as general Internet access or Microsoft Office programs, students must use the computer labs located downstairs, the Asian Pacific Heritage Room (located behind the Reference Desk) or the six terminals on the third floor (around the corner from Jo Ann O’s office). Print-outs are still picked up and/or paid for on the first floor.
Where can I take the online orientation?
This can be done on any of the computer terminals located around the library. Click on the PCC Orientation link (on lower right corner of the library homepage).

Can I get older editions of the PCC newspaper?
Yes. Check at the desk on the first floor. They are kept current to 1 year prior. These can be checked out downstairs for 1 day. They are also on microfilm. Editions prior to 1 year are kept in Archives (see Mane Hakopyan).
I have moved. How can I update my address?
Click on PCC Registration Lancer Link (on lower right corner of the library homepage). If the patron is a public patron, then we can go ahead and make the changes in Voyager.
I am a recent graduate from PCC. Can I check out books? (Alumni card, resident card)
If a patron has joined the Alumni Association, they are eligible for a free library card. If they live or work in the area, the card is also free. They must provide two forms of proof of address (driver’s license and mail). For people employed in the district, they must show proof of employment such as an ID or paycheck stub. High school students from approved schools (see list at circulation desk) must provide school ID. Otherwise, it costs $25 per year to obtain a library card.
I want to get a library card and I live in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles city residents are not eligible for a resident card because they live outside our district. However, if you work in the area you are eligible to check out. Otherwise, it costs $25 per year to obtain a library card.
Do you have bus schedules here?
No. Refer them to the Transportation Trolley in the quad, between buildings C and R.
Can I reserve a study room?
No. They are available on a first-come-first-served basis. One person may not “reserve” a room until the rest of the group arrives. Book bags or other belongings may not be left in the room to “claim” it. There is a two-hour limit to the rooms.
I’m looking for sample tests under Lewis. May I check one out please?
Yes. For instructors who have multiple articles or sample tests on reserve (e.g. Oberlander and Lewis), up to 3 can be checked out at once. Do not remove items from folders. The folder has a bar code on it. The whole folder must be checked out.
I lost a book. What happens now?
Call a supervisor who will quote the price to the patron. Do not handle this yourself.
My textbook/backpack/wallet was just stolen.
Get the supervisor on duty. The supervisor will record the robbery in the theft log, contact the Campus Police, and inform the Library Director.
It’s Thursday, 3:00 p.m. Can I check out videos on reserve over the weekend?
No. Telecourse videos can be checked out over the weekend on Fridays only--unless that Friday is a holiday and we are closed.
I forgot my PCC ID. I don’t have any other kind of ID. Can I check out books? On the other hand, can I renew my books?
A patron can use their driver’s license ONE time to check out books. If patron has no picture ID whatsoever, he/she may not check out books. Renewals are ok without a PCC ID.
I am not a student here. I have a public patron card. Can I check out a reserve textbook?

Can I renew reserve books over the phone?

Can I renew reserve tapes or DVDs after a long weekend?
